Inside of his nose, neck/ears...armpits - places where reflection off snow can really bite.

I was close, wrong end.

I need to watch the sun exposure when out on trips in the winter, the last few times my eyes have been a little puffy, like I had bad allergies.

This is on the outside of his body, right? It's not an ORGAN, is it? (I can't imagine how that could be possible, though)

one guess: Behind the knees in the bend spot in the knee joint.

another more creative guess: he was eating snow and he froze his soft palate to the point of 2nd degree burns and bleeding in his mouth.
