FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

WEDNESDAY, 18-FEB-09, 7:04 AM

THE UPPER LEVEL LOW THAT BROUGHT SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS HAS MOVE OUT OF THE REGION, LEAVING A MAGNIFICENT DAY HERE IN THE EASTERN SIERRA. AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE IS BUILDING OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST, AND THIS GREAT WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY. THEN A PATTERN SHIFT STARTS ON SATURDAY EVENING AS AN UPPER LOW REACHES THE CALIFORNIA COAST AND SPREADS INLAND. THUS WE WILL HAVE AS CHANCE OF VALLEY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS SE 6 - 9 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE LOWER 20S. WINDS SE 6 MPH.
THURSDAY: SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID TO UPPER 50S. WINDS S 4 - 8 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS MID 20S. WINDS NW 7 MPH

FOR MAMMOTH AND JUNE LAKES:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS AROUND 34. WINDS S 5 MPH.
