FORECAST 26-JAN-09

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

MONDAY, 26-JAN-09, 7:02

THAT COLD TROUGH THAT BROUGHT AN ADDITIONAL 8 INCHES OF NEW SNOW TO MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN IS MOVING EASTWARD TODAY. BTW, MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN PICKED UP A TOTAL OF 55 INCHES OF NEW SNOW FROM THE LAST SERIES OF STORMS SINCE 22-JAN-09. GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE ALONG THE CREST FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS TO ABOUT 50 MPH. PARTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH ISOLATED, SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE IN THE OWENS VALLEY UNTIL THE TROUGH MOVES OUT OF HERE TONIGHT. OUR AREA WILL STAY ON THE COOL SIDE TODAY AND TUESDAY AS THAT RIDGE BUILDS IN. THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND LOOKS TO BE DRY WITH MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES.
