FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES TODAY AS A FLAT RIDGE HOLDS IN PLACE. THIS IS WELCOME RELIEF FROM THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF BELOW NORMAL WEATHER. THE RIDGE WILL HOLD UNTIL FRIDAY WHEN A SHORTWAVE MOVES INLAND OFF THE COAST AND GIVES US A SHOT OF PRECIPITATION BY FRIDAY INTO SUNDAY FOR THE HIGH COUNTRY. THE OWENS VALLEY CAN EXPECT A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN / SNOW SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WINDS WILL PICKUP AHEAD OF THE FRONT ON FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT IN MONO COUNTY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY WITH A HIGH NEAR 56. NORTHWEST WIND 6 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS AROUND 23. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 7 MPH.
THURSDAY: GENERALLY SUNNY WITH HIGHS AROUND 54. NORTHWEST WIND 4 - 7 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH EVENING LOWS NEAR 28. NORTHWEST WIND 7 MPH.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

TODAY: MAINLY SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGHS AROUND 43. WEST WIND 5 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. LOWS AROUND 21. WEST WIND 5 MPH.
THURSDAY: PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS NEAR 40. WEST WIND 5 MPH.
