FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

TUESDAY, 02-DEC-08, 7:02

A WEAK SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE THROUGH THE PACNW TODAY CREATING A FEW HIGH CLOUDS AND WINDY CONDITIONS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP A BIT THROUGHOUT THE AREA. WEDNESDAY LOOKS DRY AND A LITTLE COOLER, THEN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY ANOTHER SHORTWAVE PASSES TO OUR NORTH GIVING US A FEW MORE CLOUDS WITH TEMPERATURES STAYING A BIT ABOVE NORMAL. RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS MILD AND DRY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE ONLY VARIABLE IS AN UPPER LOW DEVELOPING OFF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST. IT HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FEW LIGHT SHOWERS IN THE LA AREA SATURDAY OR SUNDAY AND COULD MOVE INTO THE SOUTHERN SIERRA WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS, SO STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 67. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 9 MPH.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR WITH OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE LOW 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 4 - 8 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. DAYTIME HIGHS AROUND 63. NORTHEAST WIND LIGHT.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. EVENING LOWS NEAR 28. SOUTHEAST WIND LIGHT.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

TODAY: SUNNY SKIES WITH DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 47. WEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 25.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR WITH EVENING LOWS AROUND 25. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 48. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. EVENING LOWS NEAR 25. EAST WIND 5 MPH.

TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR WITH LOWS FROM 14 TO 24. NORTH WIND 10 - 15 MPH. RIDGE TOP GUSTS DECREASING TO 55.
WEDNESDAY: SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 43 - 53. LIGHT WIND.
