FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

MONDAY, 10-NOV-08, 7:17 AM

THE UPPER LEVEL LOW WHICH DROPPED SOME TWELVE INCHES OF NEW SNOW ON MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN OVER THE WEEKEND AND CREATED WINDY CONDITIONS EVERYWHERE HAS MOVED EASTWARD. IN ITS PLACE TODAY, MAMMOTH WILL SEE UNSETTLED WEATHER AND BREEZY CONDITIONS AND THE OWENS VALLEY WILL HAVE MUCH REDUCED WINDS AND BRIGHT SUNNY SKIES. A WEAK SHORT WAVE WILL TRAVERSE THE AREA ON TUESDAY BRINGING MOSTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS TO MAMMOTH, THE REST OF MONO COUNTY AND THE OWENS VALLEY. THEN A LARGE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL FORM OFF THE COAST AND BRING ALL OF US A WARMING TREND WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: ABUNDANT SUNSHINE. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE LOWER 60S FOLLOWED BY OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE UPPER 20S. LIGHT WIND.

TUESDAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE LOWER 60S AND OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES. MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 43 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 26. NORTH WIND 5 MPH.

TUESDAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: PARTLY SUNNY BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 46 AND EVENING LOWS NEAR 30. WEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM 41 - 51 AND EVENING LOWS 13 - 23. NORTH WIND 10 MPH.

TUESDAY FOR MONO COUNTY: MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM 42 - 52 AND OVERNIGHT LOWS 18 - 28. NORTHWEST WIND 10 -15 MPH WITH RIDGE TOPS GUSTS TO 50.
