FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

MONDAY, 06-OCT-08, 7:02 AM

WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL EASTERN SIERRA WEEKEND WITH A LITTLE SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS, SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE VALLEYS ON SATURDAY AND CRYSTAL CLEAR BLUE SKIES WITH THOSE GREAT FALL COLORS ON SUNDAY. BOTH DAYS SAW TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 70S FOR THE OWENS VALLEY. FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS WE WILL HAVE DRY CONDITIONS AND WARMING TEMPS AS AN EASTERN PACIFIC RIDGE HOLDS IN PLACE. BY WEDNESDAY TEMPERATURES START TO DIP A BIT AND THEN BY THE WEEKEND A TROUGH SLIDES THROUGH DROPPING TEMPERATURES EVEN MORE AND CREATING THE POSSIBILITY OF SHOWERS IN THE VALLEYS AND SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS. MORE ON THIS AS THE WEEK PROGRESSES.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY BLUE SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 81 FOLLOWED BY OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S. SOUTHEAST WIND 5 MPH.

TUESDAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 85 AND OVERNIGHT LOWS AROUND 43. NORTHWEST WIND LIGHT.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 60 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 33. SOUTH WIND 5 MPH.

TUESDAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY SKIES AGAIN. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 69 AND EVENING LOWS NEAR 36. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY. HIGH DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM 58 - 68 AND EVENING LOWS 24 - 34. WINDS WILL BE ON THE LIGHT SIDE.
