FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

WEDNESDAY, 20-AUG-08, 7:03 AM

YESTERDAYS PAC NW TROUGH HAS PUSHED WELL INTO THE GREAT BASIN. TODAY WE WILL SEE MODERATELY BREEZY CONDITIONS IN SOME AREAS AND TEMPS AT OR SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. TEMPERATURES WILL INCREASE A LITTLE ON THURSDAY AND ANY RESIDUAL WINDS WILL LIGHTEN BY FRIDAY. ALL IN ALL A CONTINUED DRY PATTERN FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REBUILDS ACROSS THE DESERT SOUTHWEST SETTING UP A WARMING TREND INTO THE WEEKEND. THAT RIDGE WILL INTENSIFY GIVING US WARMER TEMPERATURES THROUGH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH WITH THIS TREND CONTINUING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 95 FOLLOWED BY OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE MID 50S. NORTHWEST WIND 5 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE MID 90S AND OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHEAST WIND 4 - 7 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: CLEAR SKIES. HIGH DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 74 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 48. SOUTH WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 76 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 49. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM 78 - 88 AND EVENING LOWS 42 - 52. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH BECOMING LIGHT LATE IN THE EVENING.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM 80 - 90 AND OVERNIGHT LOWS 44 - 54. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH BECOMING LIGHT.
