Mother-in-law

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Mother-in-law

Post by maverick »

I would like to thank those of you who supported me and my family during this last year
thru your well wish's and prayers.
Unfortunately she lost her battle with cancer last night, she was a loving soul to all,
may she rest in peace.

Hi Maverick,
Serious condolences; the longer I'm on this funny planet the more it seems to me that folks who deserve misfortune the least tend to get much more than their share. I've had too many friends and (thankfully) fewer family members lose battles with cancer and it's a drag. Here's hoping you and your wife can find some solace in great memories (& the Sierras!).

Thank you CG.
The older I get the more thankful I am for my health, I've known people personally
who died much younger from cancer then myself.
I hope some day soon there will be a cure for this dreadful disease that has taken my
mother, and mother-in -law, luckily my dad's was caught early enough.

Maverick,

My condolences. Cancer is a serious bummer. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer at the beginning of 2000 a little over a year after he had climbed his last SPS peak to celebrate his 70th birthday.
