FORECAST 12-AUG-08

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

CALIFORNIA IS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A LARGE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT EXTENDS INTO THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. THIS WILL GIVE THE OWENS VALLEY DAYTIME TEMPERATURES AROUND 100 THROUGH THE WEEK AND MAMMOTH THE LOW 80S FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT FEW DAYS. ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY, A WEAK SHORTWAVE WILL WORK ITS WAY ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND BRING ANOTHER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TO THE UPPER ELEVATIONS, PARTICULARLY IN MONO COUNTY.
