FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

A MOIST SOUTHWEST FLOW HAS RETURNED TO OUR REGION AS EXPECTED AND THIS SETS UP THE BEGINNING OF A MONSOON SURGE INTO OUR AREA TODAY THROUGH AT LEAST TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. INITIALLY THE LEADING EDGE OF THIS SURGE WILL ARRIVE LATER THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN INCREASE IN MID AND UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE PARTICULARLY FOR MONO COUNTY GIVING THEM THE POSSIBILITY OF ISOLATED T-STORMS. THEN ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY THE THREAT OF T-STORMS INCREASES FOR MONO AND INYO COUNTIES WITH THE ADDITIONAL CHANCE OF LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S (AROUND 98) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. NORTHWEST WIND LIGHT BECOMING SOUTH @ 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. 20% CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND T-STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S (AROUND 97) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. NORTH WIND 6 - 8 MPH BECOMING SOUTHEAST @ 11 - 14 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED T-STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. CHANCE OF PRECIPT 20%. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 77 EVENING LOWS AROUND 51. WEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH A 30% CHANCE OF OF SHOWERS AND T-STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 76 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 52. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED T-STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 82 - 92 AND EVENING LOWS 45 - 55. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND T-STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 75 - 85 AND EVENING LOWS 38 - 48. SOUTH WIND 10 - 12 MPH.
