FORECAST 25-JUL-08

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

OUR FORECAST AREA REMAINS STUCK BETWEEN DRY HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH AND MOIST MONSOONAL AIR TO THE SOUTHEAST. TEMPS SHOULD REMAIN A BIT ABOVE NORMAL THROUGH SATURDAY THEN DROP A LITTLE ON SUNDAY.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 100S (AROUND 102) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND CONTINUED HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES THE UPPER 90S (AROUND 99) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHEAST WIND 9 - 13 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 81 EVENING LOWS AROUND 47. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH GUSTING TO 20.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 48. WEST WIND 5 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 20.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 84 - 94 AND EVENING LOWS 41 - 51. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: CONTINUED SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 84 - 94 AND EVENING LOWS 41 - 51. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 25 THEN BECOMING LIGHT LATER IN THE EVENING.

NOTE: DENNIS' FORECAST ORIGINATES FROM THE FORT INDEPENDENCE EPA METEOROLOGICAL STATION. BECAUSE WEATHER CONDITIONS VARY GREATLY FROM LOCATION TO LOCATION IN THE EASTERN SIERRA, THIS FORECAST IS FOR A SPECIFIC AREA AND TIME FRAME.
