FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

MONDAY, 21-JUL-08, 7:11 AM

AN UPPER LOW NEAR SAN FRANCISCO AND THE FOUR CORNERS RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE HAVE MONSOON MOISTURE OVER SOUTHERN ARIZONA SANDWICHED BETWEEN THEM. THIS WILL BRING TO OUR AREA TODAY ANOTHER MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WITH THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS AND ISOLATED HEAVY RAIN. AS THE FOUR CORNERS RIDGE MOVES WESTWARD, DRIER AIR WILL PUSH IN ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY LIMITED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. ON THURSDAY, THAT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE BACK EASTWARD AND OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH AT LEAST SATURDAY.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. CHANCE OF PRECIPT IS 20%. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 90S (NEAR 95) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOW 60S. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 13 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY SKIES AND HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S (AROUND 98) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. SOUTHEAST WIND 5 - 7 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: PARTLY SUNNY WITH SCATTERED RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS. CHANCE OF PRECIPT 30%. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 75 EVENING LOWS AROUND 57. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: PARTLY SUNNY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND T-STORMS. CHANCE OF PRECIPT 10%. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 73 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 53. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 15 MPH.
