FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

THE UPPER LOW THAT TRIGGERED THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE HIGH COUNTRY YESTERDAY HAS MOVE EASTWARD. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED BY DRIER AIR AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN. SO, HOT TEMPS AND CLEAR SKIES TODAY AND PART OF SATURDAY THEN A SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL APPROACH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AN PULL MOISTURE BACK INTO OUR AREA LATE SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. THIS WILL INCREASE THE WINDS ON SATURDAY AND GIVE US A CHANCE OF T-STORMS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF ISOLATED HEAVY RAIN.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 100S (NEAR 101) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOW 60S. SOUTHEAST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY SKIES AND CONTINUED HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 100S (AROUND 103) AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. BREEZY CONDITIONS WITH A SOUTH WIND 15 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 30.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 EVENING LOWS AROUND 54. WEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF T-STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 81 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 48. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 25.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 83 - 93 AND EVENING LOWS 44 - 54. WEST WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON T-STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 84 - 94 AND EVENING LOWS 41 - 51. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 30.
