FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

A VERY INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO MOVE ACROSS THE STATE OF WASHINGTON AND INTO FAR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. WE WILL BE EFFECTED BY THIS SYSTEM LATER TODAY WITH A SLIGHT COOLING OF TEMPERATURES AND AN INCREASE IN WIND SPEEDS. WE ARE LOOKING AT ADVISORY LEVELS BY THIS EVENING INTO TOMORROW MORNING FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MONO COUNTY. THAT DRY LOW WILL TRACK EAST ON WEDNESDAY WITH CONTINUED BELOW NORMAL TEMPS. THIS SETS UP HIGH PRESSURE ON THURSDAY WITH A PRONOUNCED WARMING TREND THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THE 100 DEGREE MARK ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY IN SOME AREAS OF THE OWENS VALLEY.

TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND WINDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 90S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 50S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH INCREASING TO 20 - 25 GUSTING TO 45 LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.

TOMORROW FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 80S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. NORTHWEST WIND 15 - 20 MPH DECREASING TO 10- 15 LATER IN THE DAY.

TODAY FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 65 EVENING LOWS AROUND 37. WEST WIND 10 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 35.

TOMORROW FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 63 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 36. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 69 - 79 AND EVENING LOWS 33 - 43. WEST 10 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 35 LATER TODAY WITH RIDGE TOP GUSTS TO 50.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 63 - 73 AND EVENING LOWS 31 -41. NORTH WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 30 THEN DECREASING TO 10 MPH LATE IN THE EVENING.
