FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

TODAY WILL BE TRANSITION DAY AS OUR UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE GIVES WAY TO A MOSTLY DRY, DEEPENING TROUGH ALONG THE CALIFORNIA COAST. THE MAIN IMPACT TO OUR WEATHER WILL COOLER TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY WINDS STARTING THIS AFTERNOON IN MONO COUNTY AND SATURDAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY. A HIGH WIND WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9PM THIS EVENING AND FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO LATE SATURDAY NIGHT FOR MONO COUNTY. A HIGH WIND WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE OWENS VALLEY FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO SUNDAY MORNING. THE MONO COUNTY HIGH COUNTRY HAS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS ON SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. AS THAT TROUGH ROTATES EAST ON MONDAY, TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO REMAIN ON THE COOL SIDE FOR THE EASTERN SIERRA INTO TUESDAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 70S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S. NORTH WIND 5 - 8 MPH BECOMING SOUTH 15 - 20 GUSTING TO 30 TONIGHT.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 70S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE MID 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 7 - 10 MPH INCREASING TO 20 - 30 GUSTING TO 40 LATER IN THE DAY.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 52 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 35. SOUTHWEST WIND 15 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 30.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY AND WINDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 44 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 21. WEST WIND 30 - 35 MPH GUSTING TO 50 DECREASING TO 15 - 25 GUSTING TO 30 LATER IN THE EVENING.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 59 - 69 AND EVENING LOWS 26 - 36. SOUTHWEST WIND 15 - 20 GUSTING TO 35 MPH WITH RIDGE TOPS GUSTS OF 70.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: PARTLY CLOUDY AND WINDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 49 - 59 AND EVENING LOWS 18 -28. SOUTHWEST WIND 20 TO 30 GUSTING TO 45 BECOMING 25 - 40 GUSTING TO 60 IN THE EVENING. RIDGE TOP GUSTS TO 100 MPH.
