FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

BROADCASTING FOUR TIMES A DAY ON THE SIERRAWAVE 92.5 / 96.5 FM

WEDNESDAY, 09-APR-08, 7:02 AM

THE DRY TROUGH THAT CAUSED THE WINDS IS MOVING EASTWARD AS A HIGHLY AMPLIFIED PACIFIC RIDGE BEGINS TO BUILD IN. WE ARE LEFT WITH SOME BREEZY CONDITIONS TODAY THEN THINGS START TO CALM DOWN AND WARM UP STARTING ON THURSDAY. BY SATURDAY DAY TIME TEMPS WILL MOVE UPWARD TO THE LOW 80S FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, THE MID 70S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS AND THE LOW 60S FOR MAMMOTH. RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE SATURDAY WILL BE THE WARMEST DAY WITH SLIGHT COOLING ON SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPS WILL MOST LIKELY BREAK THE CENTURY MARK IN FURNACE CREEK AND BADWATER IN DEATH VALLEY ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY. DAYS AND NIGHTS WILL BE CLEAR WITH LIGHT BREEZES; IN OTHER WORDS A "REAL GO DO IT WEEKEND" IS IN STORE FOR US. THAT RIDGE SHOULD STAY IN PLACE THROUGH TUESDAY WITH SLIGHT COOLING.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 60S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE MID 30S. NORTHEAST WIND 15 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 25. THE WIND WILL DECREASE LATER THIS EVENING TO NORTHWEST 7 - 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 70S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE MID TO UPPER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 7 - 11 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 40 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 25. WEST WIND 5 - 15 MPH BECOMING CALM.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 48 AND EVENING LOWS AROUND 29. WEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MONO COUNTY: PARTLY SUNNY EARLY BECOMING CLEAR. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 43 - 54 AND EVENING LOWS 18 - 28. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 30 WITH RIDGE TOP GUSTS TO 60.

TOMORROW FOR MONO COUNTY: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM 51 - 62 AND EVENING LOWS 23 -33. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH WITH SOME RIDGE TOP GUSTS TO 50.
