Introductions

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Introductions

Howdy Everyone! Just want to introduce myself as a newbie and say how glad I am to see HS Topix back up and running again. Congratulations, kudos and thanks to all of you who worked so hard to make it happen - - its a great site! Also gratifying to see many familiar names, and many new ones. Hope I can contribute, too, somehow, to keep the positive energy going.

To that end, I'm interested to hear any stories folks have about Sierra history, particularly people. We all know about the brightest stars in the heavens - - John Muir, the Brewer party, early Sierra Club pioneers, Norman Clyde, and so many others (not that more can't still be said about them). Anyone out there familiar with the likes of Shorty Lovelace, Arne Snyder, Bob White, Dave Qualls, the Cuinninghams, other folks of note that are not so well known? I'd like to keep their memories alive, as well. If the idea tickles your fancy, post a tale or recollection if you want to share. I'll be eager to hear other's stories about special folk we've met or heard about on the trail.

What's a Campfire without sharing legendary stories?
