FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MONO COUNTY AND MAMMOTH

A WEAK UPPER LOW CONTINUES TO PUSH SOUTH EASTWARD WITH LIGHT SNOW MOVING OVER THE CREST AND INTO THE MAMMOTH AREA. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ISOLATED RAIN/SNOW SHOWERS IN THE MONO VALLEYS AND POSSIBLE RAIN SHOWERS IN THE OWENS VALLEY TODAY. ALL THIS WILL TAPER OFF AS A SHORTWAVE RIDGE BUILDS IN GIVING US PARTIAL CLEARING TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW. BY LATE THURSDAY ANOTHER STRONGER SYSTEM PUSHES THROUGH INTO FRIDAY WITH SNOW FALL EXPECTED IN MAMMOTH AND THE MONO COUNTY HIGH COUNTRY. 8 - 10 INCHES IS POSSIBLE IN SOME AREAS. FINALLY, SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY BRINGS THE BIGGEST SYSTEM INTO OUR AREA WITH UP TO 30 INCHES OR MORE IN THE MAMMOTH AREA. THE OWENS VALLEY COULD SEE RAIN AND EVEN A FEW SNOW SHOWERS FROM THIS LAST ONE.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30% CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS BY MID DAY TAPERING OFF THIS EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 54 AND EVENING LOWS NEAR 27. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 8 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLOUDY DURING THE DAY WITH A 50% CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS IN THE EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 55 AND EVENING LOWS NEAR 31. SOUTHWEST WIND 8 - 12 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 70% CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE DAY TAPERING OFF THIS EVENING. SNOW LEVEL 5,000 FEET. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 33 IN TOWN AND 41 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. EVENING LOWS RANGING FROM 11 - 20. NORTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: CLOUDY WITH A 90% CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS IN THE EVENING. SNOW LEVEL 5,000 FEET. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 35 IN TOWN AND 44 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. EVENING LOWS RANGING FROM 18 - 27. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 40.
