FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

BROADCASTING FOUR TIMES A DAY ON THE SIERRAWAVE 92.5 / 96.5 FM

LAST UPDATE: 7:46 AM PST DEC 11, 2007

UPPER LOW CONTINUES TO PUSH SOUTHWARD THIS MORNING WITH GUSTS TO 100 MPH IN SOME PLACES ALONG THE SIERRA CREST. AS THIS LOW TRACKS SOUTH THE WINDS WILL BEGIN TO DECREASE TODAY. REVERSE UP SLOPE FLOW HAS CREATED SNOW IN PARTS OF MONO COUNTY WITH LEE VINING AND MAMMOTH RECEIVING AS MUCH AS 8 INCHES OVERNIGHT. CONTINUED SNOW SHOWERS THIS MORNING FOR THE HIGH COUNTRY THEN CLEARING LATER IN THE DAY. A COUPLE OF SHORTWAVES WILL MOVE ON THROUGH TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT CREATING CLOUDY CONDITIONS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY PARTICULARLY IN MONO COUNTY. TEMPS WILL STAY COLD AND RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE THURSDAY NIGHT WILL BE THE COOLEST OF THE WEEK.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE MORNING THEN CLEARING LATER IN THE DAY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS IN THE MOUNTAINS THIS MORNING. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 40S AND LOWS IN THE MID TO UPPER TEENS. NORTHWEST WIND 9 - 14 BECOMING LIGHT.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 50S AND LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 20S. NORTH WIND 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED MORNING SNOW SHOWERS THEN PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 26 FOR THE TOWN AND 37 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 6 - 15. NORTHWEST WIND 6- 15 GUSTING TO 25 MPH BECOMING LIGHT LATER IN THE DAY.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 23 FOR THE TOWN AND THE 32 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 12 - 22 . NORTH WIND 10 MPH.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY LOOKS TO BE MOSTLY DRY AND COOL WITH THE NEXT GOOD SYSTEM DUE IN SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. THIS WILL GIVE OUR AREA ANOTHER CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION.
