FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

A SHORTWAVE DROPPING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THIS MORNING WILL GIVE MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY ALONG WITH THE OWENS VALLEY WINDY CONDITIONS TODAY. OTHERWISE MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES, COOL TEMPS AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR OUR AREA TODAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 50S TO LOW 60S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE MID 20S TO LOW 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE MID 20S TO LOW 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 6 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 36 FOR THE TOWN AND 49 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE LOW TEENS TO LOW 20S. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 30.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 35 FOR THE TOWN AND THE 45 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 10 - 20. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

ON FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY A TROUGH DROPPING SOUTH INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL COMBINE WITH A UPPER LOW OFF THE BAJA COAST AND SHIFT NORTH EASTWARD INTO CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. THIS WILL GIVE THE KERN MOUNTAINS A GOOD CHANCE AT PRECIPITATION AND JUST MAYBE MAMMOTH CAN SQUEEZE OUT AN ISOLATED SNOW SHOWER OR TWO ON SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY MORNING. A VERY COLD AIRMASS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS TROUGH BRINGING DOWN TEMPS FOR BOTH THE VALLEYS AND THE HIGH COUNTRY THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
