FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

LAST UPDATE: 8:28 AM PST NOV 27, 2007

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH NORTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA TODAY GIVING US GUSTY WINDS AND PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES PARTICULARLY IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. THE VALLEYS WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE GUSTY WINDS WITH MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. LOOKS LIKE CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN DRY AND BREEZY FOR MAMMOTH AND THE OWENS VALLEY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 20S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 GUSTING TO 25 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 50S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 20S. NORTH WIND 6 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 36 FOR THE TOWN AND 47 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 13 - 22. WEST WIND 10 - 20 MPH WITH RIDGETOP GUSTS TO 50.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 35 FOR THE TOWN AND THE 46 FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 13 - 23. NORTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 GUSTING UP TO 50 MPH OVER THE CREST LATER IN THE EVENING.

THE FLOW REMAINS OVER LAND SO DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH THURSDAY THEN ON FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY, A LOW OFF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST MOVES INLAND IN RESPONSE TO A DEEPENING TROUGH IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. THIS WILL GIVE THE HIGH COUNTRY A CHANCE AT SOME SNOW SHOWERS AND THE OWENS VALLEY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED RAIN SHOWERS ON SATURDAY.
