FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

LAST UPDATE: 8:54 AM PST NOV 19, 2007

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL MOVE THROUGH OUR AREA LATER TODAY AND GIVE US LITTLE MORE THAN A FEW CLOUDS AND AN INCREASE IN WINDS OVER THE CREST AND IN THE VALLEYS. TEMPS WILL COOL DOWN TO ABOUT NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. A PACIFIC RIDGE THEN BUILDS IN ON TUESDAY FOR REDUCED WINDS OVER THE AREA.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 60S AND LOWS IN THE LOW 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 GUSTING TO 25 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY CLEAR SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S AND LOWS IN THE UPPER 20S. NORTHWEST WIND 6 - 12 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY AND WINDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 40S FOR THE TOWN AND THE MID 50S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 12 - 22. SOUTHWEST WIND 15 - 25 MPH GUSTING TO 40.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 30S FOR THE TOWN AND THE UPPER 40S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 18 - 28. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH

UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES COME TO AN END THIS WEEK AS A SERIES OF COLD CANADIAN WEATHER SYSTEMS MOVE THROUGH THE ROCKIES. RIDGE BUILDING OFF THE WEST COAST CONTINUES THROUGH THE WEEK WHICH WILL KEEP OUR AREA DRY THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY. WE CAN EXPECT MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES FOR THE OWENS VALLEY THROUGH THE PERIOD. FOR MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY, SHORTWAVE ENERGY MOVES THROUGH ON THURSDAY WITH AN EVER SO SLIGHT CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION AND GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS. THOSE WINDS SHOULD CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY.
