WEATHER FORECAST 11/13/07

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA
PROVIDED BY DENNIS MATTINSON
EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER
BROADCASTING ON THE SIERRAWAVE 92.5 / 96.5 FM

LAST UPDATE: 7:20 AM PST NOV 13, 2007

OUR AREA IS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE TO OUR WEST. THIS IS GOING TO GIVE US FAIR SKIES AND SLIGHTLY WARMING TEMPERATURES THROUGH WEDNESDAY

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 60S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 5 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY AND A BIT WARMER. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 70S AND LOWS IN THE MID 30S. SOUTH WIND 3 - 5 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: SUNNY BLUE SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 40S FOR THE TOWN AND THE UPPER 50S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 24 - 33. LIGHT WIND.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 50S FOR THE TOWN AND THE LOW 60S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 24 - 34. SOUTH WIND 5 MPH

EVEN WITH THE HIGH TO OUR WEST, THERE REMAINS AN ACTIVE STORM TRACK OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC WITH SHORTWAVES MOVING THROUGH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. RIGHT NOW, MOST IF NOT ALL OF THESE SYSTEMS WILL BE TO FAR NORTH TO GIVE US ANY REAL CHANCE AT PRECIPITATION. SO, MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WILL PREVAIL WITH SOME MID AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS OFF/ON OVER THE CREST THROUGH SATURDAY. STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES AS THINGS COULD ALWAYS CHANGE HERE IN THE EASTERN SIERRA.
