FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ABOVE NORMAL TODAY AHEAD OF A WEAK LOW MOVING INLAND ON FRIDAY. THIS LOW LOOKS PRETTY MOISTURE STARVED BY I CAN'T RULE OUT SOME LIGHT PRECIPITATION AND POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN THE HIGH COUNTRY LATER TOMORROW, PARTICULARLY FROM MAMMOTH NORTH. STARTING FRIDAY AND THROUGH THE WEEKEND, TEMPERATURES SHOULD START TO LOWER TO NEAR NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 70S AND LOWS IN THE MID 30S. SOUTHEAST WIND 6 - 13 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 70S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 5 - 13 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 50S FOR THE TOWN AND THE MID 60S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 27 - 38. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 50S FOR THE TOWN AND THE LOWER 60S FOR THE VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 23 - 33. WEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

WINDS WILL PICK UP AHEAD OF ANOTHER LOW WHICH WILL MOVE THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY GIVING THE HIGH COUNTRY A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. MAMMOTH AND NORTHERN MONO COUNTRY CAN EXPECT A CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION LATE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY MORNING. THE OWENS VALLEY SHOULD SEE ONLY PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. SHORT WAVE RIDGING TRIES TO BUILD IN ON MONDAY.
