WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

COOL AND WINDY WILL THE ORDER OF THE DAY TODAY AND TONIGHT WITH A CONTINUING CHANCE OF SCATTERED SNOW AND SNOW PELLET SHOWERS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH RECEIVED ABOUT ON INCH OR TWO OF NEW SNOW THIS MORNING AND THERE WAS A DUSTING OF SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE INDEPENDENCE AT THE 7,000 FEET LEVEL. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WILL BE AN ON-GOING CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE UPPER ELEVATIONS AS THE DAY PROGRESSES. GRADUAL CLEARING WILL TAKE PLACE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY AND WINDY WITH A 10% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 65 AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 17 - 20 MPH GUSTING TO 30.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 63. LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 30S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 GUSTING TO 35.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY CLOUDY AND WINDY. ISOLATED SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY THROUGH OUT THE DAY. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 80% TODAY LOWERING TO 40% TONIGHT. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 39 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE UPPER 40S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 23 - 33. NORTH WIND 10 - 15 WITH GUSTS TO 30.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 41 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOWER 50S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 24 - 34. NORTH WIND 10 -15 MPH.

WINDS SHOULD DECREASE BY SUNDAY AND TEMPERATURES WILL TRY TO REBOUND AS THE SYSTEM MOVES ON INTO THE PLAINS. CLEAR ON MONDAY THEN THE NEXT SYSTEM MOVES INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ON TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY. RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THE MOISTURE WILL STAY NORTH OF OUR AREA.
