WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

SUNNY, MILD DAY TODAY BEFORE A POTENT STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST TOMORROW. THAT UPPER TROUGH WILL PUSH THROUGH OUR AREA ON THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY, LOWERING TEMPERATURES BY 10 - 15 DEGREES BY FRIDAY. BREEZY CONDITIONS FOR THE OWENS VALLEY WILL START ON THURSDAY AND WINDY CONDITIONS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY WILL BEGIN LATER TODAY WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS ON THURSDAY. AT THIS TIME, THERE IS A HIGH WIND WATCH FOR MONO COUNTY ON THURSDAY. THIS SYSTEM BRINGS WITH IT A 40% CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY BLUE SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 80S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80. LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 40S. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 20 GUSTING TO 35 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 65 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE MID 70S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 35 - 45. WEST WIND INCREASING TO 20 - 25 WITH SOME GUSTS TO 35 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR MAMMOTH AND THE MONO VALLEYS: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH WINDY CONDITIONS. 40% CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS LATE IN THE EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 55 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE MID 60S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 31 - 41. WEST WIND 25 - 35 WITH SOME GUSTS TO 60 MPH IN TOWN AND RIDGE TOP GUSTS TO 100 MPH.

CLEARING SKIES WITH GRADUALLY WARMING TEMPERATURES ON SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY AS A WEAK RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN. BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE OFF/ON FOR THE HIGH COUNTRY, MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY, AS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST CONTINUES TO BE HIT BY A SERIES OF DISTURBANCES.
