WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

AN UPPER LEVEL HIGH WILL BUILD IN TODAY, BUT PLENTY OF RESIDENT MOISTURE WILL REMAIN TRAPPED UNDER THAT HIGH, LEADING TO A CONTINUED CHANCE OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE AREA THROUGH SUNDAY, PARTICULARLY IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. BOTH THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH WILL SEE WARMING TEMPERATURES AND SOMEWHAT HUMID CONDITIONS THROUGH SUNDAY WITH GENERALLY LIGHT WINDS.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH A FEW MOUNTAIN THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING IN THE AFTERNOON. SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE VALLEY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 57 - 63. SOUTHEAST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

SATURDAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MOUNTAIN THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 60 - 68. SOUTHEAST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS, CLEARING LATE IN THE EVENING. CHANCE OF RAIN 30%. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 90S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 48 - 55. NORTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

SATURDAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: MOSTLY SUNNY THEN PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON/EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 81 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 90S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 49 - 57. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY A DRY AND STABLE SOUTHWEST FLOW WILL BRING US MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND WARM TEMPERATURES TO THE HIGH COUNTRY AND THE OWENS VALLEY. NO PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS PERIOD.
