WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

IT'S GOING TO BE A LITTLE MORE ACTIVE DAY TODAY FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN ALL AREAS, THEN THINGS WILL TAPER OFF A BIT FRIDAY AS UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE MOVES OVERHEAD. I EXPECT SCATTERED T-STORMS TOMORROW FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES WITH WARM CONDITIONS FOR THE OWENS VALLEY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. A STRAY SHOWER IS POSSIBLE ON THE VALLEY FLOOR. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 98. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 57 - 63. SOUTH WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: INTERVALS OF CLOUDS AND SUNSHINE. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 99. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 60 - 68. NORTH WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED T-STORMS DEVELOPING IN THE AFTERNOON. CHANCE OF RAIN 40%. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 90S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 48 - 55. WEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: MOSTLY SUNNY IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON/EVENING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 90S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 50 - 60. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 20 MPH.

SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY WILL BRING CLEARING SKIES AND A CONTINUATION OF WARM TEMPERATURES FOR THE VALLEYS AS A LARGE FLAT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE SITS OVER THE AREA. THE HIGH COUNTRY WILL HAVE MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES WITH A FEW CUMULUS OVER THE CREST. NO PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED AND HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE NORMAL.
