The Fresno County Sheriff’s Search And Rescue Team is in the preliminary stages of a search for four overdue hikers in Northeastern Fresno County.

The Sheriff’s Department was contacted by Inyo County officials on Monday about the hikers, who started their trip on July 30th at Mosquito Flats in Inyo County.

They were reportedly hiking in and around the wilderness area east of Lake Edison in Fresno County, and were last seen on August 11th near Lake Edison.

The hiker’s vehicle has been located at Mosquito Flats in Inyo County.

According to their wilderness permit, the hikers were supposed to return on Sunday. A family member said the hikers never returned.

The Sheriff’s Department is being assisted by the California Highway Patrol’s helicopter, “H40â€
