WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

SKIES WILL REMAIN MOSTLY CLEAR THROUGH OUT OUR AREA AS HIGH PRESSURE DOMINATES OUR WEATHER. THIS HIGH PRESSURE LOCATED OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST WILL BUILD IN STRENGTH GIVING US A MILD WARMING TREND. THE AIR MASS ALOFT REMAINS DRY AND WE WILL SEE SUNNY DAYS AND CLEAR NIGHTS THROUGH AT LEASE THE NEXT FEW DAYS. SMOKE FROM THE ZACA FIRE SHOULD REMAIN MOSTLY TO OUR SOUTH AS MID LEVEL WINDS REMAIN WESTERLY. SMOKE LAYERS WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES OVER THE KERN MOUNTAINS AND EASTWARD INTO SOUTHERN NEVADA.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. SOME LIGHT SMOKE IN THE MORNING. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 100 AND DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE IN THE OWENS VALLEY, LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE WILL BE 52 - 61. NORTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 101 AND LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 56 - 62. WEST WIND 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 70S FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND LOW 80S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 45 - 55. WEST WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 77 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 87 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 46 - 56. WEST WIND 10 MPH.

THE HIGH WILL BEGIN TO WEAKEN ON WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK AS A WEAK UPPER LEVEL TROUGH DEVELOPS OVER THE WEST COAST. THIS WILL START A VERY MILD COOLING TREND WITH DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH THE PERIOD.
