Persied Meteor Shower

Thinking of going up to Fresno Dome Saturday night. Any other accessible viewpoints come to mind?
Just about every local astronomy club has that night planned for a star party at their favorite location.
I am just heading a few miles out of town to the middle of Goodrich Meadows.
