LOST ITEM: Long Lake - Platypus filter

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

A friend and I in the late 70's were going into Hoover. He decided his pack was too heavy and cached half his clothes in the bushes along the trail. On the way out, he/we couldn't find it. That is how one loses gear. Nice Pendleton lost as well in that debacle.

As a fisherperson, my most problematic losses are losing a Z-Ray.

Speaking of nice Pendletons, I got a really nice one for Christmas when I was 13 years old. I took on my first Sierra backpacking trip and every single other BP trip until about 5 years ago when I decided to retire it. It now hangs in my closet.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.
