snow nymph?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

snow nymph?

Post by sierra cyd »

Hi snow nymph,
We don't know each other, but do you (or did you) have license plates that read "snow nymph" in some abbreviated way?

Cool. Well, last weekend, I wanted to tell my husband about her quote:
We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing
and I mentioned this forum and her name and he said "oh yeah, Snow Nymph, I've seen her." Which I thought was a surprising response since he doesn't really surf the web, and we live in northern california and she's apparantly in southern. So he said he'd randomly seen her plates in the eastern sierra, and that he then saw her another time standing by her car in the eastern sierra and he remembers thinking to himself "oh, so that's Snow Nymph." And he described her, pretty much, as she looks in her photos. I just thought this was a pretty neat small world kinda coincidence, and, of course, that she should feel complimented that he remembers! :)

I've had that happen!

A Landcruiser started to pass, but didn't, so I looked over and they were all looking and waving. SnowDude said he didn't know them, and I didn't so I waved back, not knowing who they were.

There was an e-mail the next day from them, and we finally met a few months later. It was a guy (and friends) that I had exchanged e-mails with for at least a year, that asked about backpacking and snowboarding equipment. He's done a few good backpacking trips since, and has a season pass for Mammoth now.

Yeah, please say hi if you see me!

You don't have to see snow nymph to know shes in the mountains, Bob R refered to her as the worlds greatest weekend warrior in a recent book review. To make a long story short we always stop for coffee in Lone Pine before heading home, sometimes we ask if snow nymph has passed through, She was refered to once as Soy Mocha Latte, as her drink of choice, are they talking about the same person? We live in a very small world if it is.
