WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

THE MOISTURE PLUME THAT BROUGHT ISOLATED RAIN TO VARIOUS PARTS OF THE OWENS VALLEY AND HIGH COUNTRY YESTERDAY IS ON THE MOVE INTO EASTERN NEVADA AND THE FOUR CORNERS AREA. THERE STILL REMAINS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF T-STORM ACTION IN THE HIGH COUNTRY TODAY. A SPLIT FLOW TROUGH ALONG THE WEST COAST WILL GIVE US A FEW DEGREES OF COOLING, DRY CONDITIONS AND SOME GUSTY WINDS ALONG THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE SIERRA BY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLEAR BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF T-STORMS MAINLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. SOUTH WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

SATURDAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. LIGHT WIND BECOMING SOUTHWEST 10 - 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: A FEW CLOUDS OVERHEAD IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON WITH A CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 90 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 43 - 53. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH IN THE EVENING.

SATURDAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: CLEAR SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 76 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 87 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 42 - 52. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 20 GUSTING TO 30 MPH IN THE EVENING.

THE TROUGH DEEPENS ALONG THE WEST COAST MONDAY THROUGH MID WEEK AND WE CAN EXPECT TEMPERATURES TO BE NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. THAT TROUGH WILL ALSO BRING SOME BREEZY AFTERNOON WINDS ALONG THE SIERRA FRONT THROUGH THURSDAY WITH DRY AND MOSTLY CLEAR CONDITIONS PREVAILING.
