WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TODAY AND BRING DRIER AIR TO OUR AREA. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS STILL EXPECTED EACH DAY BUT COVERAGE WILL DECREASE PARTICULARLY ON SATURDAY. THE VALLEYS WILL SEE VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES IN THE AFTERNOON.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLEAR BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON. SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 100 AND EVENING LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

SATURDAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. OCCASIONAL SCATTERED MOUNTAIN T-STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 101 AND LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: MOSTLY CLEAR IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 91 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 45 - 55. SOUTH WIND 10 - 15 MPH GUSTING TO 25.

SATURDAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: MORNING SUNSHINE BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 81 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 92 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 47 - 57. LIGHT WIND BECOMING WEST 10 - 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

PRETTY MUCH STATUS QUO FOR THE WEATHER THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO MONDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE CONTINUES TO DOMINATE OUR AREA. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SCATTERED T-STORMS EACH DAY, PARTICULARLY FROM MAMMOTH NORTH. AS OF NOW, ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY ANOTHER SHOT OF MONSOON MOISTURE MAY MOVE INTO OUR AREA AS AN INVERTED TROUGH PUMPS JUICE UP FROM BAJA.
