WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST FLOW IS ESTABLISHING ITSELF BETWEEN A LARGE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE WESTERN USA AND A TROUGH ALONG THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. THIS MEANS THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE FLOWING INTO OUR AREA THIS WEEK. CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CREST AND HIGH COUNTRY INCREASING ON TUESDAY. OTHERWISE, DRY AND QUITE WARM CONDITIONS IN THE VALLEYS TODAY AND TOMORROW.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH A 20% CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS LATE MORNING AND AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. SOUTHEAST WIND LIGHT.

TUESDAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH OUT THE DAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S AND LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. LIGHT WIND.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS AND SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 81 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 91 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 49 - 61. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 MPH.

TUESDAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. ISOLATED PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 80 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 90 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 52 - 62. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

WARMING THROUGH MIDWEEK ALONG WITH INCREASED HUMIDITY WILL MAKE FOR HOT AND MUGGY CONDITIONS. CONTINUED CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
