WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

ANOTHER SOURCE OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA THIS WEEKEND, GIVING ALL OF THE SIERRA CREST AND HIGH COUNTRY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THROUGH AT LEAST MONDAY. THE OWENS VALLEY LOOKS TO HAVE A 20% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ON SUNDAY, OTHERWISE WARM VALLEY TEMPERATURES WILL PREVAIL THROUGH THE PERIOD.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: SUNNY TURNING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 102 AND EVENING LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. SOUTH WIND 10 - 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

SATURDAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 100 AND LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTH WIND 10 -15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TODAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: MOSTLY SUNNY IN THE MORNING BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS LATER IN THE DAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 83 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 93 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 45 - 55. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

SATURDAY FOR MAMMOTH AND SURROUNDING AREA: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 83 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND 93 FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 45 - 55. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST WILL MOVE ONSHORE MONDAY NIGHT AND LINGER OVER CALIFORNIA THROUGH THURSDAY, COOLING THINGS OFF A JUST A BIT. THERE WILL BE A CONTINUATION OF ISOLATED T-STORM ACTIVITY FOR THE HIGH COUNTRY LATE INTO THE WEEK, WITH SOME GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS. DRY WEATHER FOR THE OWENS VALLEY WILL CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST THE END OF NEXT WEEK.
