Dang, the parks are crowded

This whole thing has been nuts, and has brought out the worst in this country. The deniers are as angry as ever, claiming this is all a gross over reaction (some of it is). The internet preachers are all dishing out shame as hard as they can go, trying to get through to the people who don't care (many don't). People who rarely post on the internet are now doing so all the time (nothing else to do), and they're clearly getting wound up. The most emotional (and least logical) voices always speak the loudest, but there's an awful lot of overly emotional & loud people out there right now.

Wow! My son just checked in from Laguna, and he tells us that all the beaches are closed, and it's a $1,000.00 fine if you're caught on the beach! However, the finest break around- "Trestles"* is currently still open.

I understand why parks and campgrounds are getting closed. People just forget to maintain distance. But the problem is that as more and more obvious places to get outdoors are closed so even the "secret" places are targeted by many. Did another "escape" today and it was refreshing that whenever groups met or passed on the trail one party stepped off the trail maintaining a significant distance from the other group. Everyone encountered was either single, a couple, or obvious family group. Have a couple of more places to get out to that aren't recognized trailheads. It is frustrating that the main boat ramp at my winter fishing lake is closed because it is within a closed state park. Not a better way to maintain social distance than to be in a boat on a big lake.
