An upper level low off the central California coast will intensify, while the ridge over the desert southwest remains in place. This will create a southwest flow and moisture driven thunderstorm activity over the mountains. The best chance of these high based, thunderstorms will be Tuesday night onward. Lightening and shower activity is possible in the High Country. We will also see a slight reduction in temperatures. Both the High Country and the Owens Valley will continue to be affected by areas of haze and smoke from the weekend fires.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny skies with areas of haze and smoke. Daytime high temperatures around 101 and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind 10 -15 mph in the afternoon.
