Man, I am really sorry it has taken so long to get things going again. I want to start out by thanking those of you who sent me emails over the past year encouraging me to get HST back up and running. I never realized how many people loved this place as much as I do. Amazing...
I also want to thank those of you who offered to help get the forums back up while I was busy. I know I was bad about responding to emails and was pretty flaky, but my personal life has been going through a lot of stress over the past year and I really wasn't myself. Please accept my apologies.
After "rebooting" the site twice after hackers got in, only to have the site go right back down within a couple months, I decided to start fresh. Unfortunately, this means that we lost all of those wonderful threads from years past in the process. But this was really the only way I could be sure that there weren't any "backdoors" left by the hackers. I'm confident that before too long, these forums will be once again filled with invaluable content and the disaster of last year will be a distant memory. Let's keep our fingers crossed...!!
For the time-being, I would really appreciate it if all of you posted your questions/comments about HST in the appropriate forum rather than emailing or PM'ing me. I just don't have time to answer all the emails I get! Of course, if the subject is of a personal matter, please do send me a private note. I have no problems with that...
Enough said. I'll leave you to your posting.
Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Please spread the word to anyone you might know who used to be a member. I'm particularly interested in getting back in contact with our former Moderators. I've posted on a couple of the "other boards" out there, and that's how many of you found out that we were back from the dead. If there are any other places you visit that you can post the news, I would appreciate it.
