Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

A dry southwest flow will continue over our area between the Pacific Northwest upper low to our north and a ridge of high pressure entrenched across the desert Southwest to our south. Mostly clear skies, warm temperatures and locally breezy conditions are expected for the next couple of days.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures around 100 and evening lows in the mid 50s. Southwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly clear skies. Daytime high temperatures around 101 and evening lows in the upper 50s. Southwest wind 10 -15 mph.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny. High temperature range upper 70s for the Main Lodge and upper 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 38 - 48. Southwest wind 10 - 20 mph gusting to 30 in the afternoon/evening.

Saturday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny and breezy. High temperature range around 79 for the Main Lodge and 89 for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 41 - 51. Southwest wind 10 - 20 mph gusting to 30 in the afternoon/evening.

On Monday, that desert Southwest ridge will expand more aggressively and by Tuesday, temperatures will warm up even more in many locations. Further warming will happen from Independence Day through Friday with high temperatures around 105+ in the Owens Valley and the high 80s in Mammoth. There is still a possibility of some moisture sneaking into the High Country, creating a chance of thunderstorm activity on Wednesday and beyond.
