The dry trough north of us that brought slightly cooler temps to our area continues to push on eastward. Gusty winds associated with this trough have really fanned the "White Fire" southeast of Tehachapi. Also, the "Angora" wild fire is burning in the South Lake Tahoe area. Both of these fires are apt to reduce visibility in our area for the next few days. A secondary shortwave will move across the area on Tuesday giving us more gusty winds but keeping temps at or just below normal.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures in the mid 90s and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind 5 - 10 mph.

Tuesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again and breezy. Daytime high temperatures in the upper 90s and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Clear to mostly clear skies. High temperature range mid 70s for the Main Lodge and mid 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 38 - 48. Northwest wind 5 - 10 mph.

Tuesday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Mostly sunny and breezy. High temperature range upper 70s for the Main Lodge and upper 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 39 - 49. Southwest wind 10 - 15 mph gusting to 25.

By the second half of the week another upper trough moves toward the Pacific Coast. This will create some gusty conditions and keep temperatures in check, particularly in the High Country, on Thursday and Friday. Overall, I expect dry conditions, near normal temperatures and some cumulus buildup over the Crest through the period.
