An upper level ridge of high pressure resting across Southern California, Arizona and into New Mexico will persist for the short term giving us continued dry and warm conditions. Mean while a weak shortwave moving across the Pacific Northwest will result in increased afternoon breezes today and tomorrow.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies. High temperature range low 80s for the Main Lodge and low 90s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 40 - 50. West wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.
Wednesday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Clear skies. High temperature range upper 70s for the Main Lodge and upper 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 40 - 50. Southwest wind 10 - 20 mph in the afternoon.
That upper ridge will continue to dominate our weather bringing with it a southwest flow, dry and warm conditions through the weekend. No thunderstorm activity is expected through Sunday. A few degrees cooling are possible on Saturday and Sunday for both the High Country and the Owens Valley as another weak trough moves across the Pacific Northwest on Saturday. With that shortwave, we can expect some breezy conditions in both areas.

Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.
