Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

High pressure will strengthen over Southern Nevada and the Desert Southwest through Friday, while a low pressure system moves to our north in the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures will warm a bit today and tomorrow and pressure gradients will increase between the southerly high and the northerly low to produce gusty winds off/on in the afternoon Tuesday through Friday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures in the upper 90s and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind around 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again. Daytime high temperatures in the upper 90s again and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind 10 - 15 with gusts of 25 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies. High temperature range mid 70s for the Main Lodge and mid 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 38 - 48. Southwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Clear skies. High temperature range low 80s for the Main Lodge and low 90s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 40 - 50. West wind 15 - 20 mph in the afternoon.

A gradual cooling trend with some gusty winds is expected as that low pressure system moves slowly northeastward Friday through the weekend. Dry conditions, sunny skies and some cumulus over the Crest will take us through the period with Red Flag conditions for fire danger possible on any given day.
