Many locations in the Owens Valley reached the century mark yesterday. High Temps for the following towns were recorded; Bishop 100, Independence 100, Manzanar 102, and Lone Pine 101 degrees. I expect little change in temps today and tomorrow as the ridge of high pressure lying across the region will only move slightly eastward. A passing trough to our north will lower temps only slightly on Sunday. Otherwise we will see dry conditions and temperatures remaining above normal through the weekend.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures around 100 and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again. Daytime high temperatures around 100 again and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind 10 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Mostly sunny skies becoming partly cloudy. High temperature range low 80s for the Main Lodge and low 90s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 42 - 52. Southwest wind 10 - 15 with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies. High temperature range upper 70s for the Main Lodge and upper 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 40 - 50. Southwest wind 10 - 15 with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Dry weather continues through mid week with the slight chance of a trough from Alberta affecting our area late Monday. If this happens it would only cause winds to pick up on Tuesday and temps to cool down a few degrees. The fire danger continues to be extreme, so please be careful out there!
