Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Upper level ridge of high pressure strengthens over the area and will continue our warming trend through at least today. We could see the triple digit mark in parts of the Owens Valley this afternoon. Shortwave energy passing to our north will drop temperatures slightly on Friday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures around 100 and evening lows in the upper 50s. South wind around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Friday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again. Daytime high temperatures in the upper 90s and evening lows in the mid 50s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies. High temperature range low 80s for the Main Lodge and low 90s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 42 - 52. Southwest wind 15 - 20 with gusts of 30 mph in the afternoon.

Friday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperature range low 80s for the Main Lodge and low 90s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 40 - 50. West wind 15 - 20 with gusts of 30 mph in the afternoon.

Ridging continues to weaken slightly into the weekend as a Pacific trough passes to our north. So, continued warm temperatures with a slight drop on Saturday and Sunday. We will then see a slight rebound in temperatures on Monday as ridging strengthens again. Then another slight cool down on Tuesday and Wednesday as another trough nears the coast. Skies will remain generally clear through the period with occasional mountain cumulus over the Crest.
