Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Upper level ridge of high pressure continues to strengthen over the area and will continue our warming trend through at least Thursday. Dry conditions are expected with generally fair skies. Mid level moisture will decrease today reducing the chance of thunderstorm activity along the Sierra Crest.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and evening lows in the mid 50s. South wind around 10 mph.

Thursday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again. Daytime high temperatures in the upper 90s and evening lows in the mid 50s. Northwest wind 10 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon and evening. High temperature range mid 70s for the Main Lodge and mid 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 38 - 48. West wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies. High temperature range upper 70s for the Main Lodge and upper 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temperature range 42 - 52. Southwest wind 10 - 20 mph in the afternoon.

Ridging weakens a bit on Friday and into the weekend as a Pacific trough moves inland. As of now, this trough looks quite weak. So, continued warm temperatures through Friday then a slight cooling trend on Saturday and Sunday with clear, dry conditions and temperatures a little above normal for the Owens Valley and at normal for the High Country.
