sketchbook 2019

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Mark that is one of your best yet! I am dead set on skiing into that view this winter. Thanks for the inspiration, Ian.

p.s. I'm dropping off 3 weeks worth of food and drink at the T.Meadows Ski Hut tomorrow. Your're welcome to share it come winter or spring.

Was up at Lake George Mammoth Lakes last week...
Thought about showing you how I work...sketch outline pencil, plein air (here on 1/2 sheet Arches watercolor paper)\, 1/2 way through,

Mark, I don't know how you do it, but many of your watercolor paintings are reminiscent of the great works of Chiura Obata. Were you too an admirer of his work? I love your recent paintings of Cathedral Peak. Nice, nice artwork. Ian.
