Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

An upper level low brought very windy conditions to parts of the Owens Valley yesterday, along with a light dusting of snow all along the Crest from Mammoth to Whitney. Yesterday, Fort Independence recorded a wind gust of 69.1 mph, Bishop 45.3, and Lone Pine 54.5. Winds will diminish today as the upper low begins to move east into the Rockies. We can expect cooler temps today and tomorrow.


Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny and cooler. Daytime temps in the low 70s and evening lows in the low 40s. Northwest wind 10- 15 mph becoming light in the evening .

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime temps in the upper 70s and evening lows in the upper 40s. Light wind.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy in the morning becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Breezy conditions with a chance of isolated showers. High temperature range low 50s for the Main Lodge and low 60s for the Mono Valleys. Low temp range 25 - 35. West wind 10 - 20 gusting to 35 mph.


Tomorrow for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies. High temperature range low 60s for the Main Lodge and low 70s for the Mono Valleys. Low temp range 28 - 38. Light wind to 10 mph in the evening.

Temperatures should remain below normal through Friday then ridging begins to build in on Saturday with a warm up into the weekend.
